Get to know Simon Jones of Ireland, one of our 2025 Global Ambassadors.
A little bit about Simon in his own words…
I’ve been touring around Europe and living out of panniers while working remotely for the last three years. In early 2025, I’ll start riding full-time and attempt to go around the world. I fell in love with the freedom cycling gave me as a teenager, so I guess it’s not too surprising that touring became my way of life. Over the years, I’ve stayed with countless Warmshowers hosts, and I can’t wait to pay it forward when I finally have a place of my own. My favourite thing about Warmshowers is the incredible variety of stories you collect after staying with different hosts.
Why did you decide to become a Warmshowers Global Ambassador?
I’m excited to be a Warmshowers host to promote the community in all corners of the world so that there’ll always be a friendly face that’s happy to host the next group of tourers in the area, no matter how remote it is.
Share a memorable Warmshowers experience with us…
My most memorable Warmshowers experience is a real “you had to be there” type story. It involved baby dolls in bird cages, a former terrorist, and a co-housing project, but I can’t say more. All that matters is I had a great time hahaha.
