Behind every cycling journey, there is a story. Sometimes it’s a story told around a table, sometimes one shared online, sometimes one casually mentioned during a ride. What we see, year after year, is that personal stories and lived experiences have a powerful effect: they inspire others to imagine themselves doing the same, and to take the very first step toward a cycling holiday.
At the annual Cycle Tourism Show Fiera del Cicloturismo, stories are everywhere. They come from people who decided to travel by bike for the first time, from those who turned a short trip into a life-changing experience, and from travelers who found freedom, connection, and confidence on two wheels. These stories don’t just entertain; they spark curiosity, reduce fear, and make cyclingfeel possible and accessible.
This is one of the reasons we love seeing the cycling travel community grow every year. More people are choosing bike travel for their holidays, discovering new places at a human pace, and returning home with stories they can’t wait to share. And when they do, something special happens: they become multipliers. Their experiences inspire friends, family members, colleagues, and fellow cyclists to try something similar.
Communities like Warmshowers play a fundamental role in this process. They create spaces, both physical and digital, where stories are exchanged, trust is built, and first-time travelers find encouragement. For many people, hearing a real story from someone who has already done it is the moment when an idea turns into a plan.
For the second year in a row, we are happy that the Warmshowers community will be with us at the Show – Fiera del Cicloturismo. This year, our event moves to Padua, our new home, in the heart of one of Italy’s most beautiful regions and just a few minutes from Venice. We look forward to welcoming travelers, storytellers, and future cyclists and to seeing many new journeys begin from a single shared story.
